 doctors protest against colleagues abduction.

Doctors took out a rally in Quetta on Monday (October 28) in protest against the kidnapping of heart specialist Dr Munaf Tareen.

Dr Tareen was kidnapped from Quetta on Sept 18.

Protesting doctors marched from the civil hospital to Quetta press club. They were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans for the release of Dr Tareen.

Addressing the protesters, Dr Haqdad Tareen, Dr. Saadat and others said that 40 days have elapsed and Dr. Tareen has not been recovered yet.
They called upon the government to take action against those involved in the kidnapping of doctors and to take measures for their protection.

The protesters said the doctors will be compelled to move to other places if the government did not provide them with security.

They said many doctors have left the Balochistan province due to safety fears.

They said most abductees had been freed only after payment of ransom which shows the inability of the government.
