Karachi- Missing Persons Case Defense Minister Arrives in Court.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif appeared before Supreme Court bench in Karachi Registry to face the jury in missing persons’ case, a day after he was assigned additional charge of Defence Ministry,.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is the head of a bench which is hearing the missing persons’ case and Karachi law-and-order suo moto implementation case at Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry.

The CJ, yesterday, directed the defence minister to personally appear before the bench in case the missing persons are not produced during the hearing on November 28.

The same day, the government issued a notification and assigned additional charge of the defence portfolio to federal Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif.

Senator Pervaiz Rashid, who oversees the affairs of Information Ministry, was allocated the additional charge of Law, Justice and Human Rights Ministry in the wake of apex court’s hearing of significant cases related to the defence and law ministries.
