Funeral prayers for three Mjlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) activists has been offered at Hussain Hazara Goth, in Pakistan’s biggest city Karachi, on Monday (December 30).
Yesterday, Firing on a taxi near Dalmia resulted in the death of three MWM workers and left another two injured. Two of the deceased have been identified as Safdar Abbas and Aleem.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East, Pir Mohammad Shah confirmed the victims’ association with the religious organization.
According to what police said, unknown shooters hit these MWM activists on Dalmia Road while they were on their way back home after submitting nomination papers for local government polls at the office of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The victims were MWM candidates for the local bodies election from Hussain Hazara Goth.
MWM reacted to this tragedy with a condemnatory statement demanding of the government to bring the killers to the task immediately.
