Karachi- More than 9 Thousand Patients Have Been Provided Free Vaccine of Dog Bite.

thousands of people were vaccinated free for dog bite last year: hospital report.

Jinnah hospital and Civil hospital issued report said on Monday(January 6) that last year nine thousand nine hundred and ten people were vaccinated free for the dog bite out of which seventy percent were children who were bitten in different parts of body by street dogs and pet cats.

The vaccines to prevent dog bitten disease are only available in Jinnah Hospital and Civil Hospital.

Since last one year the vaccination facility for dog bites is not available in Abassi Shaheed Hospital.

In dog bite clinic of Jinnah Hospital four thousand cases bitten by dogs, cats, monkeys, horses, fox and other animals were reported.

In Rabies clinic of Civil Hospital five thousand nine hundred and ten animal bitten cases were reported and were vaccinated free of cost.

Dr Khaid Farooq in charge of  rabies clinic Civil Hospital told that infected person by an animal bite should report in the nearest medical center within 24 hours for free of cost vaccination.

If the effected person does not receive the vaccine he or she could suffer from a serious illness.

The patient of this disease is scared of light and water and if not treated the disease could result in serious complications.

Dr.Khalid Farooq said public should eliminate the street dogs and cats and should get their pets vaccinated to avoid any dangerous disease after bitten by pets.
