115 births in last three years registered with congenital anomalies in abbasi shaheed hospital,karachi.
In 2011 in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Orthopedic department was started with the help of Bone city International and since than 115 new born have been registered in the department born with congenital anomalies.
Professor Mohammad Asif Qureshi orthopedic and in charge of foot clinic said we are fortunate to be a part of international program,in orthopedic ward we have established clinic where congenital handicaps and children born with club foot deformity are treated and facilitated free of cost.
Professor Anees Bhatti from Jinnah hospital and in charge of orthopedic ward no 17 said a lot of new born are reported who are born with club foot deformity.
Parents of these children should take them to foot clinic for treatment starting from third day of birth till they are seven years of age.
He also said parents should start the treatment of such children with in first week of birth as bones are soft and can be treated with plaster and other different methods.
He said club foot is treated in Abbasi Shaheed hospital,Jinnah hospital,Indus hospital, Hyderabad and other cities of Pakistan.
These children are treated free of cost.A team of orthopedic surgeons appreciated and admired the efforts of Pakistani doctors.
