press conference held by pma over lack of protection for doctors in pakistan’s karachi,
Pakistan Medical Association held a press conference in PMA house on Wednesday (Febrary 10) in Pakistani commercial hub Karachi.
President of PMA Dr.Adrees Adhi and General Secretary Dr.Qazi Wasiq said once again doctors are being murdered in the city, being victim of extortion and getting tortured in different incidents.
He said they they will not hold strikes in the hospitals but it is the responsibility of the government to track down the suspects, arrest them and strong action should be given to these suspects to keep them away from criminal activities.
Ahmed Chenoy chief of CPLC and SP anti violence cell zafar Ahmed also joined the press conference.
Ahmed Chenoy said the gang who has been targeting doctors since last few years have been tracked down, one group belongs to South Africa is under further investigation and soon the suspects of the group will be arrested.
Azfar Ali said there are some gangs working in the country who target doctors and ask for extortion money, certain groups have been tracked down and soon they will be given strict sentence after their arrest.
He said doctors should not give the money for extortion to anyone and should report immediately.
He further added police is tracking the gang and soon will announce good news.
