Trump and Xi Jinping Hold Key Meeting in Beijing, Discuss Trade and Global Stability

Trump also stressed the importance of economic growth and said the United States wants to further expand trade ties with China. He noted that members of his delegation, including leading business executives, are eager to strengthen commercial cooperation with China.
The US president added that he looks forward to detailed discussions with Xi Jinping, calling it “perhaps the biggest and most important meeting yet.” He further said that relations between Washington and Beijing would improve more than ever before.
Trump acknowledged that challenges had emerged in bilateral relations over time, but both sides eventually managed to resolve them. He also highlighted the personal nature of their relationship, saying that whenever issues arise, both leaders communicate directly with each other.
