Three Killed, 24 Injured in Rain- and Storm-Related Incidents Across Punjab
The spokesperson said several incidents involving collapsing roofs, walls, trees, sheds and billboards were reported from different districts as strong winds and heavy rain swept across the province.
In Dera Ghazi Khan, three people were injured in two separate incidents after lightning struck during the storm.
In Faisalabad, seven different incidents involving collapsing walls, roofs and falling trees left one child dead and nine others injured. Rescue officials identified the deceased child as 13-year-old Haider Ali, who died after a wall collapsed near Sultan Chowk.
In Jhang, one person was injured after a signboard collapsed due to strong winds and rain.
In Muzaffargarh, four people sustained injuries in four separate incidents involving fallen trees, solar panels and walls.
In Nankana Sahib, one person was injured after a wall collapsed during the storm.
Meanwhile, Lahore witnessed six separate incidents caused by strong winds and rain, including falling trees, sheds and billboards, leaving two people dead and six others injured.
Rescue officials said one person was killed and another injured after a tree fell near Lorry Adda Badami Bagh. The deceased was identified as 50-year-old Ejaz. In another incident near Rang Mahal, a 21-year-old man identified as Bilal died after a shed collapsed.
One additional person was injured after a billboard collapsed in the provincial capital.
Rescue teams shifted critically injured victims to nearby hospitals after providing emergency medical assistance on site, the spokesperson added.
Citizens have been advised to immediately dial the Rescue 1122 helpline in case of emergencies.
