Trump Postpones Iran Strike After Gulf Leaders’ Request
According to international media reports, President Trump stated that the military operation was scheduled to take place today and that all preparations had already been completed.
Trump said that Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Mohammed bin Salman, and Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan assured him that serious negotiations with Iran were underway.
The former US president expressed optimism that a mutually acceptable agreement could still be achieved between the United States, the Middle East, and other involved countries. He emphasized that the key condition of any agreement would be preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Trump further stated that he had instructed US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other military officials to temporarily halt the strike on Iran.
However, Trump also warned that if a satisfactory agreement could not be reached, the US military remained fully prepared to launch military action against Iran at any moment.
Reports from American and Western media previously indicated that the US military had prepared multiple options for both limited and large-scale operations against Iran.
