Adiala Jail Declared Red Zone Ahead of Imran Khan Meeting Day
According to reports, strict security arrangements have been put in place around the jail premises ahead of the scheduled meeting day of Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Police from nine police stations, along with four DSPs, the SSP, SP Saddar, and the City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, have been deployed for security duties. Overall, around 1,000 police personnel have been stationed in and around the area.
Authorities have also placed water cannons outside the jail as part of crowd-control measures.
The local administration has ordered the closure of nearby shops, hotels, tandoors, and petrol pumps surrounding Adiala Jail to maintain security and avoid any untoward situation.
Reports further state that Sohail Afridi and the sisters of Imran Khan have announced their arrival at Adiala Jail today for a meeting with the former prime minister.
The heightened security comes amid concerns over possible political gatherings and public activity near the jail premises.
