TikToker Sana Yousaf Murder Case Verdict Announced, Accused Sentenced to Death
The verdict was announced by Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka at the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad.
According to the court decision, the convict was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs2 million. In addition, Umar Hayat received a 10-year prison sentence under other legal provisions related to the case.
During the hearing, call records and screenshots of chats linked to the accused were presented before the court as evidence.
The complainant’s lawyer requested the court to award two separate death sentences to the accused due to the gravity of the crime.
Meanwhile, the defense counsel argued that the accused had previously expressed no confidence in the state counsel and the trial court. The lawyer informed the court that two petitions were still pending before the Islamabad High Court.
Defense counsel further stated that the accused deserved a fair trial under Article 10-A of the Constitution and argued that any personal conflict between lawyers and judges should not influence the trial proceedings or the final judgment.
The case had gained significant public attention across Pakistan due to the popularity of Sana Yousaf on social media platforms.
