4 Killed, 19 Injured as Heavy Rains, Storms and Hailstorms Wreak Havoc
According to reports, the affected areas include Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir, where intense weather triggered multiple accidents and infrastructure damage.
In Kandhkot, one person lost his life and three others sustained injuries after lightning struck a village in the surrounding area. In Rojhan, powerful windstorms blew away solar panels, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to another.
Sadiqabad also witnessed severe destruction as strong winds and heavy rainfall uprooted trees, toppled signboards, collapsed walls, and damaged electricity poles, leaving three people injured.
In Naushahro Feroze, a woman died and 12 people were injured during storm-related incidents. In Moro, falling solar panels and signboards injured several residents, while at Paddidan Grid Station, a collapsing wall claimed the life of a woman and injured seven others, including three children.
In Kotli, heavy rainfall caused multiple accidents that injured five people. Residents protested at the local hospital after reportedly finding no doctors available for emergency treatment.
Several regions, including Shahdadkot, Mehar, Nasirabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Mirpur, Mangla, Abbottabad, Galiyat, Nathiagali, Ayubia, and Peshawar, also experienced heavy rainfall and hailstorms.
According to SEPCO officials, the extreme weather severely damaged transmission lines, towers, and electricity poles, causing disruptions in power supply. Emergency teams are currently working to restore services in affected areas.
