Government Announces Reduction in Petrol Prices by Rs4 Per Liter
Under the new rates, petrol prices have been reduced by Rs4 per liter, bringing the new price down to Rs377.78 per liter. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) remains unchanged at Rs380.78 per liter.
The decision follows a major reduction announced last week, when the government cut both petrol and diesel prices by Rs22 per liter. After that reduction, petrol prices had dropped from Rs403.78 to Rs381.78, while diesel prices declined from Rs402.78 to Rs380.78 per liter.
Earlier, the government had also announced a Rs5 per liter reduction in petroleum prices for the pricing period that started on May 15.
The latest price adjustment is expected to provide some relief to consumers amid ongoing economic pressures and rising living costs across the country.
