Police Officer Suspended After Assaulting Bike Rider in Karachi’s Kharadar Area
According to police officials, the incident came to light after CCTV footage surfaced online, showing an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) allegedly beating a bike rider who was sitting on his motorcycle at a petrol pump.
Following the viral video, SSP City Arif Aziz took notice of the incident and suspended Sub-Inspector Asim from duty. Authorities confirmed that disciplinary action was taken immediately after reviewing the footage.
In his statement, suspended Sub-Inspector Asim claimed that he saw the bike rider chewing gutka at the petrol pump. When he questioned the rider about it, a verbal argument broke out between them, which allegedly escalated into the physical altercation seen in the video.
SSP City Arif Aziz stated that a full investigation into the incident is currently underway, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry report.
The incident has sparked criticism on social media, with many users demanding accountability and strict action against police misconduct.
