Indian Sikh Pilgrims Perform Religious Rituals
The pilgrims arrived in Pakistan via the Wagah Border and attended spiritual ceremonies at the holy site, one of the most revered places in Sikhism.
To honor the visiting pilgrims, a traditional Kabaddi tournament was organized in the outer courtyard of the shrine. The event was jointly arranged by the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Evacuee Trust Property Board, and Kartarpur Project Management Unit.
Pilgrims from India and other countries enthusiastically participated in the cultural event. The Kabaddi match was played between UK Kabaddi Club and Gung Kabaddi Club, drawing cheers and excitement from the audience.
Speaking to the media, Nasir Mushtaq emphasized that hosting pilgrims reflects Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace, harmony, and interfaith unity worldwide.
Meanwhile, Ramesh Singh Arora stated that Pakistan seeks peace not only in the region but globally. He highlighted that Pakistan is like a home for Sikhs and described Kabaddi as an important part of Punjab’s cultural heritage. He also urged authorities to fully reopen the Kartarpur Corridor to facilitate easier access for pilgrims from India.
