Iranian Delegation Expected in Islamabad
According to government sources, Iran has formally agreed to participate in the second round of negotiations aimed at reducing tensions and ending the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad tonight along with a small delegation.
Pakistan’s mediation efforts appear to be gaining momentum, with expectations rising for a second round of Islamabad peace talks between Iran and the United States. Meanwhile, a US logistics and security team is already present in Islamabad to facilitate the negotiation process.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a key telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart. The discussion focused on the regional situation, ceasefire prospects, and Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office emphasized the importance of sustained and meaningful dialogue to achieve long-term peace and stability in the region. Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to reducing tensions and continuing its role as a constructive mediator.
During the conversation, Abbas Araghchi appreciated Pakistan’s positive and facilitative role in promoting dialogue and peace. Both leaders agreed to strengthen mutual coordination and remain in close contact moving forward.
