Pakistan Raises Petrol and Diesel Prices
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the new prices will be effective from April 25 for the next review period. Following the increase, the price of high-speed diesel has reached Rs380.19 per liter, while petrol now costs Rs393.33 per liter.
Officials stated that the hike comes in response to rising global oil prices driven by ongoing regional tensions. The government cited increasing pressure from international markets and commitments with global partners as key reasons behind passing on the financial burden to consumers.
The Federal Minister for Petroleum explained that fluctuations in the global energy market have made price adjustments unavoidable, as Pakistan continues to navigate economic challenges and external dependencies in the energy sector.
The latest increase is expected to further impact inflation and transportation costs across the country, adding pressure on consumers already dealing with rising living expenses.
