Pakistan Will Eliminate Foreign-Sponsored Terrorism at All Costs, Says PM Shehbaz Sharif
Addressing the passing-out parade of the Pakistan Navy, the Prime Minister congratulated the graduating cadets and welcomed the presence of cadets from friendly countries. He praised the outstanding role of the Pakistan Navy in safeguarding the country’s defense, saying the naval force has consistently demonstrated excellence in challenging times.
He said the Pakistan Navy’s role in Marka-e-Haq has become a significant part of the country’s history.
Commenting on the recent understanding between Iran and the United States, Prime Minister Sharif said the signing of the Islamabad Agreement was a matter of great honor for Pakistan. He credited this achievement to Pakistan’s sincere diplomatic efforts and appreciated the tireless efforts of Field Marshal and Army Chief General Asim Munir in promoting peace.
The Prime Minister noted that major developments in the region would have long-term consequences. Referring to Pakistan’s eastern neighbor, he said a defeated mindset was relying on proxies, but Pakistan remained committed to uprooting externally backed terrorism with the full support of its armed forces.
Prime Minister Sharif also said the recent visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Pakistan reflects the deep brotherly ties between the two countries and highlights Pakistan’s growing regional importance.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s principled stance, he said the country is recognized globally as a supporter of peace. He further emphasized that Pakistan will continue its unwavering support for the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine, and will continue raising their cause at international forums.
