PM Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Iran This Week, Expected to Attend Ayatollah Khamenei’s Funeral
According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Iran during the first week of July and is likely to participate in the funeral ceremony being held in Tehran. After completing his visit to Iran, the Prime Minister is also expected to travel to Turkey for further diplomatic engagements.
Meanwhile, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has sent a letter to National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, inviting him to attend the condolence ceremony for Ayatollah Khamenei.
In his message, the Iranian speaker conveyed good wishes for the people of Pakistan, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, and members of the National Assembly. He also expressed hope for stronger mutual respect, dignity, and cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.
Iran has announced that the funeral ceremonies for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will begin in Tehran from July 4, with burial ceremonies continuing through July 9 in Mashhad, according to multiple international reports.
