President Asif Ali Zardari Arrives in Kyrgyzstan for Official Visit
President Asif Ali Zardari arrived at Issyk-Kul International Airport in Cholpon-Ata on Monday (July 6) for an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, where he was warmly received by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
Upon his arrival, President Zardari was presented with a guard of honour at the airport in a ceremonial welcome.
The visit marks a significant milestone in Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations, as President Zardari becomes the first Pakistani president to visit the Kyrgyz Republic since the historic 1995 visit by former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The high-level visit is expected to reinforce bilateral engagement and strengthen the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
During their meetings, President Zardari and President Japarov will review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and discuss ways to expand cooperation across a range of sectors, including trade, investment, energy, minerals, agriculture, education, healthcare, tourism, the digital economy, and people-to-people exchanges.
The two leaders will also exchange views on enhancing regional connectivity and further deepening the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
