US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the US was softening its position on Israeli settlements in the occupied west bank, the latest in a series of moves by the Trump administration that reversed decades of US policy. 

According to the reports, The US has declared that Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian land are not necessarily illegal, in a dramatic break with decades of international law, US policy and the established position of most US allies.
