Singapore-Sultan Mosque to offer space with bed, pillows & water for homeless to seek shelter at night,Nationwide study recently found that about 1,000 people were sleeping on streets

font size="3">Sultan Mosque is set to be the first mosque in Singapore to provide a place for the homeless.

A study was done by the National University of Singapore after finding out that there are about 1000 people displaced in the country who are forced to sleep in the streets and streets.

font size="3">In an interview with the publication, social development officer of Sultan Mosque, Muhammad Aizuddin said,

font size="3">“The issue of homelessness in Singapore is rising. Masjid Sultan feels responsible to prepare a sleeping space that is safe and comfortable for them while they wait or look for a permanent place for them to stay.” 

font size="3">According to the reports,  the homeless can seek refuge in these places from 10:00pm to 7:00am the next morning.

font size="3">The room is also fitted with a fan and five new sets of single-sized mattresses and pillows. Free bottled water can also be found at one corner of the room.

font size="3">To use the shelter, the homeless simply have to find a security guard from the mosque and register, before using the space.
