Protesters set fire to an Iranian consulate in the city of Najaf during anti-government protests in various cities of Iraq, the administration imposed a curfew in southern Iraq.
According to a foreign news agency, protesters also shouted slogans against Iran, protesting that the Tehran government interferes with Iraqi policy, with protesters chanting slogans "Get out of Iraq".
Government officials fortunately came out while burning the consulate building, causing no casualties, this is the second attack in a month in the Iranian consulate. Earlier, the Iranian consulate in Karbala
was attacked three weeks ago.
It is understood that the protesters raided the Iraqi government building yesterday, but the police failed to do so by taking timely action.
