Rescue 1122 Launches Large-Scale Operation in Tirah Valley
According to Rescue 1122 KP spokesperson Bilal Ahmed Faizi, the operation involves 23 operational vehicles and over 100 trained rescue personnel, who are actively participating in relief activities under harsh weather conditions.
Heavy snowfall across Pakistan’s upper regions has severely disrupted daily life, with link roads blocked at multiple locations, leaving local residents and tourists stranded. Due to weather-related incidents, seven people have lost their lives, while extreme cold and slippery roads continue to affect traffic flow.
Rescue 1122 teams remain actively engaged in Tirah Valley, where personnel are working tirelessly to rescue stranded individuals and vehicles trapped in snow. Despite difficult terrain and freezing temperatures, rescue workers are providing timely assistance to those in need.
The spokesperson added that at Sandana area, approximately 55 affected individuals traveling in around 20 stranded vehicles were successfully rescued. Teams from Khyber, Peshawar, Swabi, and Nowshera districts are jointly taking part in the ongoing operation.
