Zero-Tolerance Operation against Kite Flying
Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar stated that kite flying is completely unacceptable anywhere in the province and that strict action will be taken against violators without discrimination. He emphasized that the use, sale, and online business of metallic string and kites will also be dealt with firmly under the law.
kite flying has been allowed only on specific days under strict government conditions and regulations. Any violation of these rules will result in immediate legal action.
According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police, during the current year, 2,234 accused persons have been arrested across the province for violating the Anti-Kite Flying Act, while 2,210 cases have been registered. Police have also recovered 152,808 kites and 3,148 string reels (dor charkhiyan) during various operations.
1,020 suspects have been arrested, and police have seized 35,547 kites and 860 string reels.
