Direct Air Link Restored Between Pakistan and Bangladesh
The arrival of the aircraft at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, was marked by special arrangements, including a traditional water cannon salute, symbolizing the historic significance of the occasion. A special reception ceremony was also organized at the airport, attended by the Governor of Sindh, the Bangladeshi High Commissioner to Pakistan, and senior airport officials.
Emotional scenes were witnessed during the event as members of the Bangladeshi community residing in Pakistan expressed joy over the resumption of direct flights. They welcomed the move, stating that it would allow them to visit their families in Bangladesh at a lower cost and in significantly less time.
The Dhaka–Karachi flight duration is approximately three hours. Previously, due to the suspension of direct flights, passengers were forced to travel via Dubai, making the journey longer and more expensive.
The flight was officially received by Director General Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), Nadir Shafi Dar, who presented floral bouquets to the visiting delegation and warmly welcomed the flight crew. He later met with the crew members and congratulated them on the successful launch of the route.
