Sohail Afridi Raises Alarm Over Imran Khan’s Eye Surgery
Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the KP chief minister said that the matter had escalated from Adiala Jail to PIMS Hospital, yet the family was not taken into confidence. He highlighted that the biggest concern was the absence of a retina specialist at PIMS Hospital, raising questions about the quality of treatment provided.
Sohail Afridi stated that Imran Khan underwent eye surgery secretly, alleging that authorities concealed the timing and details of his transfer to the hospital. He added that when Imran Khan initially fell ill, a medical examination must have been conducted inside the jail, but neither the family nor the lawyers were informed about it.
“The government kept denying this for five days,” Afridi said. He further revealed that PTI leaders had been sitting outside Adiala Jail since the previous day, seeking a meeting with the Chief Justice. However, they were only able to meet the registrar and are still awaiting an official response.
