Kashmir Solidarity Day Observed Across Pakistan
Special ceremonies, public gatherings, rallies, seminars, conferences, and solidarity marches are being held in cities across the country to highlight the Kashmir dispute before the global conscience. A human chain is being formed at Kohala Bridge to symbolically express unity with the people of occupied Kashmir. Pakistanis living abroad are also raising their voices worldwide in solidarity with Kashmiris.
Tributes are being paid to the martyrs of Kashmir, as more than 600,000 Kashmiris have been martyred over the past seven decades due to Indian state repression in the occupied territory.
On the occasion, Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik’s wife, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, in a video message, highlighted the deteriorating human rights situation in Kashmir and the grave threats faced by the Hurriyat leadership. She emphasized that Kashmir is not merely a political dispute but one of the world’s most dangerous nuclear flashpoints.
Pakistan’s national leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, and Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri people and strongly condemned ongoing Indian human rights violations in IIOJK.
