Suicide Bomber Identified
Authorities revealed that a raid was conducted at the attacker’s residence in Peshawar, where two brothers of the suspect and a woman were arrested. During the investigation, an identity card belonging to the suicide bomber was recovered from the crime scene.
Based on the identity card, the attacker has been identified as Yasir. His permanent address is listed as Abbas Colony, Shiro Jhangi, Charsadda Road, Peshawar, while his current residence was reported to be Ganj Mohalla Qazian, Peshawar.
Investigative officials disclosed that the suicide bomber had stayed in Afghanistan for five months, where he allegedly received training in handling weapons and carrying out suicide attacks.
Police have launched multiple raids in Peshawar and Nowshera to identify and arrest possible facilitators and members of the attacker’s network. Authorities stated that investigations are ongoing, with a focus on the suspect’s contacts and support system.
Police sources added that further crucial evidence is expected to emerge, which may help clarify the background and planning behind the terrorist attack in Islamabad.
