Electricity Prices Increased
According to a notification issued by Nepra, electricity prices have been increased by Rs 0.28 per unit, and the revised rates will be reflected in February electricity bills.
The notification stated that the increase will apply to consumers across the country, including K-Electric users. However, lifeline consumers and electric vehicle charging stations have been exempted from the price hike, meaning they will not face any additional financial burden.
It is worth mentioning that the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested an increase of Rs 0.48 per unit for December’s monthly fuel price adjustment. After reviewing the request, Nepra approved a lower increase of Rs 0.28 per unit and issued a formal notification.
