Deadly Kite Strings

As Lahoris celebrated with loud cries of “Bo Kata,” the sharp and hazardous kite strings became a threat not only to human lives but also to innocent birds, leaving many injured and bleeding mid-air.
In a rare display of compassion, a citizen named Tahir Iqbal was seen carrying a severely injured eagle (kite bird) from place to place after it was wounded by a metallic string. While hospitals were put on alert to handle human injuries during Basant, no effective government arrangements were observed for injured birds.
