Mass Wedding in Layyah
Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Punjab, Sohail Shaukat Butt, attended the event as the chief guest and congratulated the newlywed couples and their parents.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the Punjab government is determined to support its daughters by not only helping them build homes but also ensuring their successful settlement. “By the grace of Allah, 370 couples have completed their religious marriage obligations today under the Chief Minister’s Dhee Rani Programme,” he said.
He described the initiative as a unique and historic programme, calling it a beautiful step in Punjab’s history. Sohail Shaukat Butt said that the programme is very close to the heart of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, as it reflects her vision of thinking like a mother for the daughters of Punjab and like a daughter for their parents.
He added that the Dhee Rani Programme has now become the heartbeat of parents across Punjab, offering dignity, support, and relief to deserving families.
