Pakistan Current Political Situation
Addressing a press conference in the federal capital alongside other party leaders, Salman Akram Raja said that any dialogue would only take place on the basis of principles. “If talks are to be held, they must be on principles,” he said, adding that the prime minister had stated that dialogue could take place with Mahmood Khan Achakzai, but strictly on principled grounds.
He said the coming weeks would be crucial and stressed that the current system must accept Imran Khan’s victory. “Politics is the name of dialogue, but in our country, politics has been turned into something else,” he remarked, adding that PTI demands what it deserves according to established democratic norms.
Referring to recent political gatherings, Salman Akram Raja said that Karachi had witnessed massive public participation, with people arriving voluntarily despite Jinnah Bagh being sealed. He added that when Sohail Afridi came out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a sea of people followed him.
