Supreme Court of Pakistan Big Decision
The hearing regarding Imran Khan’s health was conducted by a two-member bench comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan. Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Suhail Afridi and Barrister Salman Safdar appeared before the court during the proceedings.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Yahya Afridi called Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan to the rostrum and referred to Paragraph 21 of the report submitted by the Friend of the Court and the jail superintendent, noting that both reports were consistent.
According to the report read in court, Imran Khan expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements and food facilities provided in jail. However, he termed the medical facilities unsatisfactory and requested access to specialist eye doctors.
The Chief Justice directed that Imran Khan be granted access to medical specialists and telephone contact with his children as soon as possible. The Attorney General assured the court that the arrangements would be made within two to three days.
Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan further confirmed that access to eye specialists and telephone contact with his children would be ensured by February 16. The assurance has been made part of the court’s official order.
This development marks a significant moment in the ongoing legal and health-related matters concerning the PTI founder.
