12 terrorist Killed, 11 Personnel Embrace Martyrdom
The incident occurred on February 16, 2026, when militants allegedly backed by India and affiliated with “Fitna al-Khawarij” attempted a cowardly assault on the checkpoint. According to the military’s media wing, the attackers tried to breach the security perimeter, but the timely and effective response by Pakistan Army troops thwarted their plans.
ISPR stated that security personnel demonstrated professionalism and bravery, targeting fleeing militants and killing 12 attackers during the exchange of fire. Following their failed attempt, the militants rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the outer wall of the checkpoint.
The powerful explosion caused severe damage to the checkpoint’s infrastructure. As a result, 11 brave soldiers embraced martyrdom in the line of duty. The blast also damaged nearby residential buildings, leading to the martyrdom of a young girl and injuries to seven civilians, including women and children.
The statement further added that a clearance and sanitization operation is ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining India-backed militants.
Authorities reaffirmed their resolve to continue operations until complete peace is restored in the region.
