Thunderstorms and Hail Hit Karachi
Various parts of Karachi witnessed light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, while some areas also experienced hail, turning the weather cold and pleasant.
Drizzle and light showers were reported in several neighborhoods including Mauripur, Mochko, Gulistan-e-Johar, Federal B Area, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and University Road. The city’s sky remained partly to fully cloudy in different localities throughout the day.
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department had forecast light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in Karachi. Hail was also reported around the airport and its surrounding areas.
According to the Met Office, winds ranging from 10 to 40 kilometers per hour are expected to blow from various directions during the day. Morning humidity was recorded at 91 percent, while visibility dropped to 600 meters in some areas. Over the next 24 hours, humidity levels are expected to range between 45 and 95 percent.
The rainfall has brought a noticeable drop in temperature, providing relief to residents as the city enjoys a refreshing change in weather.
