Imran Khan Release Force Announced by KP CM
Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Afridi said he had been assigned responsibility by the PTI founder to lead a street movement. He alleged that court orders were being ignored and claimed that access to Khan’s personal physicians was being denied.
Afridi formally announced the creation of the “Imran Khan Release Force,” stating that the organization would be registered and operate under a defined chain of command. According to him, the force will pursue a peaceful struggle for Khan’s release.
He further stated that an oath-taking ceremony for members of the force would be held in Peshawar on February 22, shortly after Eid. He added that command of the force would be assigned to whomever Imran Khan designates.
Afridi emphasized that preparations would be completed before launching the movement, describing it as a struggle for democracy, constitutional supremacy, and free media.
Responding to a question, he said that those within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who wished to see him removed should remember that honor and disgrace come from God. He suggested that inquiries regarding any messages about his removal should be directed to the PTI founder’s sisters.
