War Fears Push Gold Prices Higher in Global and Local Markets
In the international bullion market, the price of gold increased by $133 per ounce, reaching a new level of $5,411 per ounce. The surge reflects strong investor demand for safe-haven assets amid global uncertainty.
Meanwhile, in local bullion markets, the price of 24-karat gold rose significantly. Per tola gold became Rs13,300 more expensive, climbing to Rs563,862 per tola. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs11,402, reaching Rs483,420.
Alongside gold, silver prices also recorded an upward trend. The price of silver per tola rose by Rs188 to Rs10,050, while 10 grams of silver increased by Rs161 to Rs8,616.
It is worth noting that gold and silver prices had already shown an upward trend on the final trading day of the previous business week, indicating continued volatility in precious metal markets.
