Diseased and Dead Chicken Seizes
According to officials, the operation was carried out on the basis of a tip-off in Khanpur Bagga Sher, where food safety teams intercepted a rickshaw loaded with underweight and sick chickens intended for supply to local markets. Two suspects were arrested on the spot and handed over to the police, while cases were registered against those involved at the relevant police stations.
In a separate action, Punjab Food Authority teams raided a chicken shop in Mahmood Kot, recovering 1,200 kilograms of dead and diseased chickens, which were immediately destroyed.
Director Operations South, Shehzad Khan Mugsi, stated that veterinary doctors confirmed the meat was extremely dangerous for human health. He emphasized that the authority is enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against the sale of meat from dead or sick animals and will continue strict crackdowns to protect public health.
