Massive Airstrikes
According to media reports, powerful explosions were heard overnight across multiple districts of Tehran, with large plumes of smoke rising from several locations. Some of the blasts were reported near residential areas and around University of Tehran.
The U.S. military reportedly used B-2 Spirit stealth bomber aircraft to target deeply buried Iranian ballistic missile launch facilities, dropping powerful bunker-penetrating bombs. Officials claim the strikes were aimed at key missile infrastructure.
The attacks were not limited to the capital. Explosions were also reported near the cities of Shiraz, Kermanshah, and Isfahan, where several missile bases and military installations are believed to be located.
Iran responded with missile strikes toward Israel, reportedly firing its Kheibar Shekan missile toward targets including Tel Aviv. Reports say the missile barrage caused panic and explosions in parts of the city.
Meanwhile, Iranian drones reportedly attempted to target the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) in the Gulf of Oman, though officials have not confirmed whether the vessel was hit.
