Pakistan Stock Market Crashes Trillions Wiped Out Within Minutes
At the start of trading, the benchmark KSE-100 Index plunged by 9,453 points, falling to 148,042 points. Within minutes, investors lost trillions of rupees as panic selling gripped the market.
Due to the extreme volatility, trading was briefly halted. The index later dropped further by 9,780 points, bringing it down to around 147,715 points, where trading was temporarily stopped.
The KSE-30 Index also suffered heavy losses, declining by 3,133 points to 45,196 points, with trading suspended after a 6.93% drop.
After a one-hour pause, trading resumed but the market continued to remain under heavy pressure. The KSE-100 Index later fell by 11,725 points to 145,770 points. Overall, the market recorded a decline of 12,343 points, bringing the index down to 145,152 points, marking a drop of nearly 7.84%.
