Rain and Snowfall Increase Cold Weather in KPK
In Peshawar and its surrounding areas, the weather turned colder after heavy rainfall recorded on Sunday. The showers caused a noticeable change in temperature, bringing back winter-like conditions that had recently begun to fade.
In the Garum Chashma area of Lower Chitral, fresh snowfall was reported, further increasing the cold. The sky over Peshawar remains cloudy today with chilly winds.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, rainfall measurements recorded on Sunday included 5 mm in Peshawar, 7 mm at Bacha Khan International Airport, 6 mm in Chitral, 9 mm in Timergara, 13 mm in Upper Dir, 8 mm in Mir Khani, and 6 mm each in Kalam and Drosh.
The weather department has forecast partly cloudy conditions in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while upper districts are expected to remain cold during early morning and night hours.
Thunderstorms with rain are expected in Chitral, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Malakand, Buner, Swat, Shangla, Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan, and Kolai-Palas.
Rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds is also expected in Mansehra, Abbottabad, Battagram, Torghar, Mohmand District, Bajaur District, Khyber District, and Kurram District.
