Heavy Rains Alert Across Pakistan — Flash Flood Risk Looms
According to the forecast, a strong westerly weather system is expected to enter southwestern Balochistan on the evening or night of March 24. The system is likely to intensify by March 27 and may persist until March 31, affecting large parts of the country.
Under its influence, widespread rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Sindh, and Balochistan.
From March 29 to 30, most areas are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms, while some locations may experience very heavy downpours. Snowfall is also likely in mountainous regions, along with isolated incidents of hailstorms.
In Sindh, cities including Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Dadu, Kashmore, Jacobabad, and Larkana are expected to receive intermittent rain with thunderstorms and strong winds between March 25–26 and again from March 28–29. Hailstorms are also possible in some areas.
Authorities have warned of potential flash flooding in low-lying regions and urban flooding in major cities. Citizens are advised to take precautionary measures and stay updated with official weather advisories.
