Fresh Alert for Karachi
The Met Office stated that moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at certain locations due to the strength of the system. Wind speeds could exceed 40 km/h if thunderclouds intensify.
However, no rainfall is expected in the city tomorrow. The department has further forecast that Karachi may receive thunderstorms with gusty winds on Saturday and Sunday, with chances of hailstorms in some areas.
Deputy Director and spokesperson Anjum Nazir Zaigham noted that the effects of this new westerly system are likely to persist in Karachi and parts of rural Sindh until March 29.
The maximum temperature in the city today is expected to range between 32°C and 34°C, while yesterday’s maximum temperature was recorded at 32.9°C.
