Deadly Rains Hit KPK, 9 Killed
The report, released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, covers the impact of rainfall from March 25 onwards across various districts of the province.
According to the PDMA spokesperson, the fatalities include eight children and one woman, while the injured comprise 26 men and 21 children. The casualties were primarily caused by collapsing roofs and walls of houses during the شدید weather conditions.
So far, at least six houses have been partially damaged due to the rains. The incidents were reported mainly in the districts of Bannu and North Waziristan.
Authorities, including PDMA, Rescue 1122, and local district administrations, are actively engaged in relief and rescue operations. Coordination among relevant departments is ongoing to ensure timely assistance to affected families.
The PDMA has directed local administrations, especially in the worst-affected district of Bannu, to provide immediate financial aid and relief supplies to the families of the deceased and injured.
Rainfall is expected to continue intermittently across different parts of the province until Tuesday, raising concerns about further damage.
