438th Urs of Sufi Saint Madho Lal Hussain Begins
On this occasion, a local holiday has been declared in Lahore to facilitate pilgrims visiting the shrine.
Madho Lal Hussain was a prominent Sufi poet of the 16th century and is widely regarded as one of the greatest Punjabi poets of the subcontinent. Through his teachings and poetry, he spread messages of love, tolerance, and humanity. His spiritual legacy continues to inspire generations.
He is known as Madho Lal Hussain due to his deep affection for his disciple Madho Lal, symbolizing a profound example of human love and unity in Sufism.
The district administration has made extensive arrangements for the Urs. Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Muhammad Ali Ejaz, visited the shrine in Baghbanpura to review security, cleanliness, and facilities provided to visitors. He also inspected the control room and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.
Strict security measures have been implemented on the directives of DIG Operations Faisal Kamran. Over 1,500 police personnel, including senior officers and 46 female officers, have been deployed to ensure safety.
