Torrential Rains, Power Outages and Strong Winds
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, rainfall of varying intensity — from light showers to heavy bursts — is expected to continue in different areas of the city. The weather department has also issued a fresh alert, warning that the current spell may persist until April 4.
Several areas including Saddar, Jamshed Road, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Tariq Road, Bolton Market, Lyari, Keamari, Boat Basin, Clifton, Defence, Korangi, Landhi, Surjani Town, Qasba Colony, and Orangi Town have been affected by continuous rainfall and standing water.
Meanwhile, electricity supply has been severely impacted across the city. A spokesperson for K-Electric stated that restoration efforts are underway in rain-affected areas, but many localities continue to face outages.
Strong winds have further worsened the situation, raising concerns about infrastructure damage and prolonging recovery efforts. Authorities have urged citizens to take precautionary measures as the weather system continues to influence the region.
