Petrol Hits Rs. 458, Diesel Rs. 520 Per Litre
According to official details, petrol prices have been increased by Rs. 137.23 per litre, while diesel prices have surged by Rs. 184.49 per litre. Following the hike, the new price of petrol stands at Rs. 458.40 per litre, and diesel at Rs. 520.35 per litre. The revised rates will come into effect from midnight.
The announcement was made during a joint press conference by Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik and the Finance Minister. The government stated that the decision was taken in line with commitments made to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and due to rising global oil prices.
The Petroleum Minister explained that an اہم high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister included provincial leadership, military officials, and other كبار stakeholders. It was decided that fuel subsidies would now be limited to specific segments of society.
He further added that the ongoing global crisis, particularly tensions in the Gulf region, has caused significant volatility in international oil markets.
