Karachi sinkhole incident
Authorities later confirmed that two women were inside the car at the time of the incident. Both were successfully rescued with the assistance of women traffic police officers.
The area was immediately cordoned off by police, and barriers were placed to restrict both vehicular and pedestrian movement. Heavy machinery and a private lifter were called in to retrieve the submerged vehicle.
Traffic police later managed to pull the car out of the sinkhole, while investigations are expected to determine the cause of the sudden road collapse.
