KP Rains Claim 30 Lives as Homes Collapse
The majority of casualties were caused by collapsing roofs and walls, highlighting the vulnerability of housing structures during extreme weather.
Among those who lost their lives were 20 children, along with five men and five women. The injured include 38 children, 11 women, and 36 men.
Authorities also reported widespread property damage, with 140 houses affected—115 partially damaged and 25 completely destroyed. Districts hit hardest include Bannu, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Kohat, Nowshera, Bajaur, Lakki Marwat, Kurram, Hangu, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Upper Dir, Battagram, North Waziristan, and Tank.
The PDMA has instructed local administrations to ensure immediate relief to affected families, while continued rainfall in Punjab has raised concerns of further damage and emergency situations.
Meanwhile, the PDMA reported continued rainfall across Punjab over the past 24 hours.
